Making A Difference in the Bronx, NY

Mark Twain once said "Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see."

Miss. Sherell Butler had nothing but wonderful things to say about her Home Health Aide, Lorna Joseph. They have been together since the beginning of 2019 and since then Miss. Butler says “she wouldn’t change her aide for [anything] in this world.” Miss Butler went on to say that Lorna is very warm, caring and loyal. She recalled a time when she and Lorna were running an errand and she had mistakenly dropped a $100 bill. Lorna picked it up and immediately returned it to her. Miss Butler stated that “you [don't] find honesty like that anymore,”  as she is blind and would have been none the wiser on her own so this small act of kindness meant the world to her.

It is quite evident that Lorna embodies the values for which we here at Premier strive; honesty, integrity and compassion. Upon asking Lorna about the situation she commented “she would hope that someone would do the same for her and that we are meant to help one another.”

We need more small acts of kindness in this world - thank you Lorna and Miss. Butler for sharing your story with our community!
