Taking the Guess Work out of Paying for Home Health Care

The thought of paying for home health care doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Although the various payment options truly depend on each individual case, Premier Home Health Care Services, Inc. is here to assist our clients and their families in determining the best possible options.

We’ve broken it down in an easy-to-follow format with all of the general information you will need to help get the process started.

    Health insurance:

Since each insurance plan is different, you can count on Premier Home Health Care, Inc. to contact your insurance carrier to determine what services will be covered. It’s important to note that commercial insurance does not generally cover long-term care. We will take the guesswork out of whether there will be any out-of-pocket expenses (such as deductibles or co-pays), so you will know exactly what you will be paying up-front.

    Medicare and Medicaid coverage:

For Medicare recipients, home health care services are covered, provided that the following criteria are met:

    • A physician has ordered the services.
    • A Medicare Certified Home Health Agency provides the services.
    • A client who is homebound requires the need for skilled nursing or physical therapy.
    • A client’s condition has the potential to improve with short-term assistance.

Medicare is not a long-term home health care solution and will only cover services for a maximum of up to 60 days.

Medicaid candidates may qualify for a benefit called long-term community-based care only if they meet established financial and medical criteria (qualifications can vary from state to state). Premier staff can connect those who are looking to apply for Medicaid or receive home community-based services with enrollment resources.

    Private Pay options:

Families may be faced with a crisis resulting from an unexpected and unfortunate occurrence, however, Premier is often able to respond quickly to these needs – even for same day service requests. Private pay options are always available, regardless of the level of care needed. Whether you’re in need of short-term care or 24-hour live-in services, one of our registered nurses is available to discuss your specific needs.

We invite you to call Premier for immediate answers to your questions. Whether you are a family in crisis or are looking to gather information and consider all possible options, Premier is here to help. Call us today at: 1-866-526-1883.

Premier and its subsidiaries have locations across seven states:
